Project objectives

This project rehabilitates railway infrastructure and modernises maintenance workshops along the Lutovo-Bratonožići-Bioče section of the Vrbnica– Podgorica–Bar railway, part of the Orient/East Mediterranean TEN-T Core Network Corridor. Goals include removing speed restrictions, enhancing reliability, reducing maintenance costs, and improving safety. Workshop upgrades ensure modern servicing for locomotives and wagons.

Project description

The project enhances railway operations by upgrading tracks, strengthening bridges, and modernising maintenance facilities. These improvements support safer, more efficient, and sustainable transport.

Key upgrades include rehabilitating three steel bridges for greater durability and capacity, refurbishing 20 km of track, and modernising three workshops for advanced servicing.
