Project objectives

Assisting and advising the Public Enterprise for state roads - PESR in implementing the upgrading of the tolling system.

Project description

The modernisation of the toll system on corridors VIII, X, and motorways A2/E65 and A3e aimed to maximise revenue, reduce costs, and enhance toll collection management. The new ETC system is interoperable with toll systems in North Macedonia and neighbouring countries, supporting contactless smart cards via DSRC.

Project data 

The project included eleven new toll stations, expansion of TS Miladinovci, and modernisation of five existing stations. All stations have eight lanes, an EU-compliant ETC system, and photovoltaic systems, requiring canopy replacements. Implementation follows EBRD procurement policies and FIDIC Yellow Book conditions.
