Irmina Pöschl gave an insightful and very engaging presentation on the rock characterization of the Yusufeli Dam. She illustrated the effective integration of expert opinions, digital tools and classification systems and showed how these elements can work together to achieve dependable results under demanding and complex conditions.
Nedim Radončić presented the latest advances in the characterization of rock masses for TBM (tunnel boring machine) excavation. The presentation of the paper, which he wrote together with Dr. Tobias Cordes from BBT SE, was followed by an interesting panel discussion. In this session, he was able to discuss the future of rock classification with renowned experts such as Prof. Dr. Harry Saroglou, Prof. Dr. Davide Elmo, Prof. Dr. Rita Sousa and Dr. Are Håvard Høien.
