|   Events

The events organized by the Austrian National Committee of the ITA presented the latest advances in tunnel design, construction and management.

The event spotlighted key topics such as 50 years of the ITA, the role of digitalisation in tunnelling, major international undertakings, and a look at evolving contract models, standards, and regulations within the sector.

Moreover, the Geomechanics Colloquium delved into vital discussions on rock slope stability, geothermal energy solutions, assessment and repair of infrastructure, and how climate change is influencing natural hazards—topics of particular interest to our employees.

Our experts made significant contributions: Johannes Weigl delivered a presentation on "Construction of a sprayed permanent inner lining in caverns of the Semmering Base Tunnel" Meanwhile, Gerold Lenz presented Joao Dinis', Irmina Pöschl's, Robert Priewasser's and his own experience working on the Yusufeli dam project, titled "Challenges of slope design in high cut slopes and jointed rock masses." Additionally, Kilian Scharrer spoke about “Monitoring and maintenance of protection structures against alpine hazards – Approach in Bavaria.”
