The 2026 Construction Congress at the Austria Center Vienna once again provided an important platform for dialogue within the construction industry. Representatives from the construction industry, politics and academia came together to learn about and discuss current projects, technological developments and future challenges.
The focus was on topics such as sustainable and digital planning and construction, as well as the further development of infrastructure projects.
Discussion at the exhibition stand
iC and PCD shared a stand, which served as a central hub for discussions and networking. The focus was on face-to-face exchanges with partners, clients and industry colleagues, enabling both the establishment of new contacts and the strengthening of existing collaborations.
Expert insights into water supply
The “Vienna Water 2050” strategy was also presented as part of the technical programme. Josef Weber (PCD), together with Norbert Klicha (MA 31), outlined key measures to secure Vienna’s long-term water supply. A particular focus was placed on the expansion of the Neusiedl am Steinfeld water reservoir, which is regarded as a key component of future infrastructure development.
Looking ahead
The 2026 Construction Congress has once again demonstrated how important professional exchange and personal networking are for the sector’s continued development. Events of this kind provide a platform for discussing current challenges together and developing new perspectives for future projects.
