A joint site inspection took our Teams 46 (Transport Infrastructure & Mobility) and 12 (Geology & Geotechnics) to Armenia. As part of the Sisian–Kajaran road project on the North–South Corridor, funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), our colleagues gained first-hand insights into the geological conditions on site.
Reducing Geohazards Along the Road
The project focuses on improving the safety and reliability of road traffic. This involves significantly reducing the risks posed by geohazards such as rockfall, landslides and avalanches, as well as seismic events. These hazards have the potential to block or seriously damage the road.
Assessing the geological conditions on site provides valuable insights for developing appropriate measures to mitigate these risks.

Together, iC is working to develop appropriate solutions for managing geohazards and creating resilient road infrastructure.
