Work on the new “Lab7” buildings has officially begun at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) in Klosterneuburg. This new phase of construction will expand the campus with modern research, workspace and communal areas, and will support the institute’s long-term development as an international centre of science.
Expansion of research infrastructure
The three new laboratory buildings provide over 25,000 m² of space for around 30 additional research groups, thereby promoting interdisciplinary research, innovation and international collaboration. In addition to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, the complex will also feature communal areas, a cafeteria, a learning centre and a health centre.
As part of this forward-looking project, iC is providing project monitoring and controlling services.
Part of the Master Plan 2036
The expansion forms part of ISTA’s long-term development strategy. By 2036, the campus is set to grow to a total of 150 research groups and further consolidate its role as a leading international research institution.
The first phase of construction is currently scheduled for completion in 2028.
