Under the theme “Connecting Communities Through Underground Infrastructure”, international experts from the tunnelling and infrastructure sectors gathered in Montréal. Our colleagues Matic Jazbar, Michael Proprenter, Anjo Žigon, Peter Jemec and Marko Žibert were also in attendance.
Focus on digitalisation and innovation
The event focused on the latest developments in tunnel construction, as well as topics such as digitalisation, BIM, automation and the future use of artificial intelligence in the industry. International working groups addressed, among other things, the further development of BIM guidelines for tunnel projects and new approaches to digital engineering.
The conference clearly demonstrated the extent to which innovation, technological cooperation and international networking are shaping the future of underground infrastructure.
International platform for knowledge exchange
In addition to specialist presentations and panel discussions, the World Tunnel Congress offered numerous opportunities for professional exchange and international cooperation. Representatives from a wide range of countries used the event to share experiences, forge new partnerships and discuss shared visions for the future development of tunnelling.
