Strategic importance for the Austrian Armed Forces

The project is a central component of the Austria-wide modernisation programme. Once completed, the building will serve as a central hub for disaster relief operations and will combine modern storage, administrative and technical areas on a gross floor area of around 3,300 m². Construction work began in 2024 and completion is scheduled for the end of 2025.

Main components of the facility

  • Single-storey pallet hall for storage
  • Four-storey administration wing with offices, service and training rooms
  • Two-storey garage with additional storage space

Integration into the Austrian Armed Forces' investment programme

The new building in Korneuburg is one of a large number of construction projects currently being carried out by the Austrian Armed Forces throughout Austria. Around 430 projects for the construction, extension or renovation of military properties are currently underway. With these investments, the Austrian Armed Forces is laying the foundations for a modern and reliable operational infrastructure.

The Dabsch Barracks have been in existence since 1969 and have been a central location for NBC defence ever since. As part of the current structural measures, the operating supplies warehouse previously located in Stockerau will be integrated here. In doing so, the Austrian Armed Forces is not only focusing on modern infrastructure, but also on the efficient bundling of capacities at a location steeped in tradition.
