Madaster Free is not only a digital tool, but also a learning platform for sustainable and digital construction. The platform facilitates entry into topics such as life cycle assessment, material cycles and resource efficiency, and enables these aspects to be tested and further developed directly in daily planning practice.
Digital basis for material transparency
Madaster Free acts as a digital material and product register for buildings and infrastructure. BIM or Excel data can be uploaded via the platform and linked to verified environmental and product databases. This provides a basis for analysing life cycle impacts, carbon footprints and indicators of recyclability and separability of materials. Madaster Free also supports the creation of standardised material passports, which enable transparent documentation of the entire life cycle of a building.
Integration into planning practice
As a circularity leader, iC integrates Madaster into its BIM environment to systematically incorporate circular principles into planning and construction processes. The platform complements existing digital workflows and facilitates the structured collection and evaluation of material-related data. Support from Madaster Free is intended to lower barriers to entry and make material transparency and circular construction more accessible for projects of various sizes.
Practical application and knowledge exchange
Madaster Free is supported by 14 circularity leaders from the fields of planning, construction, industry and research. Real project data and analytical findings are directly incorporated into the further development of practical applications. From February 2026, free online webinars will complement the offering and provide concrete use cases and insights into current and upcoming regulatory requirements.
