A recent technical highlight was successfully completed: in the middle of the night, the first of two 60-metre-long steel structures was installed with millimetre precision – using an 8-axle telescopic crane. This impressive manoeuvre marks the visible start of the main construction phase of this demanding infrastructure project.
Geotechnical expertise from the very beginning
iC has played a key role in this major ÖBB project from the outset. Our experts have provided geotechnical know-how and supported the planning and execution of essential preliminary works. These included the dismantling of the old bridge and the construction of new abutments – crucial foundations for the smooth progress of the project.
Next steps through summer
By July, extensive structural tests and integration of the new bridge into the existing ÖBB rail network are scheduled. This will be followed by the installation of the second steel structure. The timeline is tight, but thanks to the close collaboration of all parties involved, each step is being carried out with the utmost precision.
The Eschenau project stands as a showcase for innovative engineering and reliable project management. iC is contributing not only technical expertise but also playing a decisive role in ensuring that complex infrastructure projects are delivered on time and with maximum efficiency.
