The new ALDI SÜD headquarters is currently being built in the immediate vicinity of Salzburg Airport. The modern office complex is being constructed on a site covering around 15,000 m² and will have a total usable floor space of approximately 34,000 m². In addition to a single-storey underground car park with almost 12,000 m², there will be six above-ground floors with around 22,000 m² of office space. Once completed in 2026, the site will offer space for around 1,200 workplaces.
iC is responsible for local construction supervision (ÖBA), including HVAC and electrical systems, as well as construction site coordination (BauKG). In this way, we are ensuring the high-quality implementation of this major project.
Current construction progress:
The work is visibly progressing:
- The asphalting of the underground car park has been completed.
- The final steps are being carried out on the façade.
- Painting, tiling and carpet laying are currently being carried out in the interior.
- Landscaping and greening of the roof have begun.
- Carpentry work such as wall cladding is in progress.
Technical and sustainable features:
The excavation pit required around 60,000 m³ of excavation to a depth of 5.5 m, secured by sheet piling and groundwater lowering via shaft wells. The basement remains reliably protected against groundwater thanks to a ‘brown tank’. Geothermal probes provide temperature control, supplemented by a 250 kWp photovoltaic system and rainwater harvesting. E-charging stations and sustainable materials emphasise the future-oriented approach. This is complemented by architectural accents: an open atrium with striking staircases, spacious office areas, terraces and green spaces create an inspiring working environment.
