Our expert Daniel Balla and Nikolaus Studnicka of RIEGL delivered a presentation titled "Scan2BIM großer Bestandsgebäude: Von der raschen und exakten Vermessung bis zur automatischen Generierung eines IFC-Modells" In cooperation with MapShots GmbH, we specialize in transforming point clouds into IFC models, facilitating the digitalization of intricate existing buildings within the construction industry. Our ongoing research project, showcased at INTERGEO, centers on automating the conversion of point clouds into BIM models—an essential step towards more efficient construction information management.
Moreover, we are deeply engaged in a variety of construction and digitalization initiatives for existing structures, with a primary emphasis on precise data capture and processing. One of our key partnerships is with the Institute of Science and Technology Austria in Klosterneuburg, where we have supported construction projects for several years. Notably, we handled the complete point cloud scanning of the newly inaugurated I24 laboratory building, collaborating closely with RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems.
