Residence built 1895 | Sustainably Modernised

|   Projects

A renovation that exemplifies a more sustainable approach for future projects and shows that alternative practices are feasible.

Our employees provided OTTO Immobilien with construction supervision and consulting services. We transformed this historic building in Vienna's ninth district, upgrading from an outdated gas heating system to a centralised heat pump system that will supply both heating and cooling in the years to come.

In this historical building from 1895, air to water heat pumps were fitted in the basement rather than on the rooftop. This preserves the historic architecture while providing modern heating and cooling equipment. The interior placement guards against the impact of the elements, with air being pulled in through the basement windows, while a PV installation on the roof covers part of the energy needed.

As part of the refurbishment, the flats had new heating and cooling stations installed, centralised heat pumps in the basement and high-quality water hygiene systems. All 16 residential flats now benefit from new radiators, underfloor heating, cooling systems and modern facilities to maximise comfort for future residents.
