Roman Bridge over Traun opened | Sustainable Infrastructure Project

|   Projects

The bridge closes an existing gap in the regional and supra-regional cycle path network.

The ceremonial opening of the new Roman bridge over the River Traun between Wels and Schleißheim marked an important milestone for sustainable mobility and regional infrastructure. Our experts were entrusted with the local construction supervision for this project.

Modern wooden bridge with a historic name

The bridge, designed by Schimetta Consult Ziviltechniker GmbH, impresses with its ecological timber construction and striking architectural details. With its barrier-free design, it offers both pedestrians and cyclists convenient and safe access across the Traun. The four integrated viewing platforms invite people to linger and offer impressive views of the river landscape.

Important link in the cycle path network

This not only creates a direct connection between Wels and Schleißheim, but also a significant boost for tourism and sustainable transport development in the central region of Upper Austria.

Grand opening with Roman flair

The bridge opening was celebrated with a varied programme: from Roman performances and rowing demonstrations to a colourful family programme, there was something for all age groups.
