Health-conscious

In addition to treatment facilities, doctors’ surgeries and dental practices, the 12,000 m2 useable floor space of the new building of the Regional Health Insurance in Eisenstadt will also accommodate the administrative areas, including the customer centre of the BGKK, as well as the SVB (Austrian Farmers’ Social Security Authority). It is the first time in Austria that infrastructure of this type will be used jointly by the BGKK and SVB. ÖZIV (the Austrian Association of Civilian Handicapped) is helping ensure that disabled access throughout the building is provided to the required standards.

The project is being completed by STRABAG, the construction firm, as part of a turnkey contract (detailed design and construction services) to the plans and designs of architect Alfred Piniel. In its capacity as Consultant to the Client, iC provided support to BGKK, and was also responsible for project monitoring. The topping-out ceremony took place at the end of July 2015. A year later, the project was completed and put into operation in August 2016.
