PDF-DownloadAssisting and advising the Public Enterprise for State Roads (PESR) in implementing the upgrading of the tolling system
Upgrading and modernisation of the tolling system on European Corridors VIII and X highways requires provision of a modern tolling system that maximises tolling revenues, minimises operation costs and provides a tighter management control on the collection and accounting of toll revenue. The new ETC (electronic tolling) system is to be interoperable with other tolling systems in North Macedonia and neighbouring countries.
Construction of nine new toll stations and modernisation of five existing ones, including a toll centre of approx. 1,000 m2. A total of 113 toll lanes will be installed, 74 of which will be newly built and 39 modernised, including lanes where it is not necessary to stop. Tolls will be collected via contactless smart cards using DSRC (Dedicated Short-Range Communication).
All facilities related to this project are contracted under a single contract following the EBRD standard tender documents for “Supply and Installation of Plant and Equipment”.
Preparation of tender documents, monitoring of upgrading and construction works, provision of technical and contractual assistance, support during commissioning and initial operation..
