In this transformational endeavour, we are assuming key responsibility for overseeing the associated project control. This cutting-edge institute has a variety of facilities covering everything from advanced imaging and electron microscopy to dedicated NMR resources, making it a sought-after hub for PhD students, postdocs and professors worldwide who are attracted by the enabling research infrastructure.
The inauguration of the Moonstone building, also known as Laboratory Building 6, took place during the summer of 2023. Apart from providing laboratory and office accommodations for 11 experimental and 14 theoretical research teams, the facility hosts the VISTA science education programme. The area offers space for student workshops and teacher training sessions. Additionally, the building features a state-of-the-art seminar centre designed for scientific conferences, with capacity for 400 individuals. Furthermore, it significantly expands the existing parking deck.
The construction is being completed in several significant stages. The first began in 2018 to establish a visitor area and laboratory is nearing completion with the upcoming opening. In the second phase, which is in progress, a modern office complex and expanded laboratory facilities are to be built.
