This project is a part of the International Building Exhibition (IBA) and essential in revitalizing Favoriten in Vienna. We oversaw the management of the building construction and local building supervision.
The core goal is fostering social and ecological sustainability. The dated hunting garage's walls transformed into a vibrant structure with ground-floor activities and greenery. Offices, medical practices, and a childcare facility will occupy the first floor, while innovative, well-designed living spaces located above, with a green facade ensuring sustainability.
Renewable energy sources, concrete core activation for cooling, photovoltaic systems, and a heat pump guarantee economic and ecological electricity. The project includes 75 modern rental apartments, an indoor communal area with a kitchenette, and shared outdoor spaces like playgrounds, a terrace, and a rooftop garden. Environmentally conscious heating, cooling, and hot water solutions using heat pumps as well as geothermal sources are employed, while rooftop flats feature innovative cooling techniques.
