Ground-Breaking Ceremony | Bypass Kauerndorf

|   Projects

The start of construction on the bypass in Kauerndorf, Bavaria, was recently celebrated.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the 91 million euro project took place during the construction of the bypass in Kauerndorf, Bavaria. A project that was led by our experienced team, particularly in terms of design and structure.

The Kauerndorf bypass will be two kilometres long and the tunnel 750 metres. Exits and slip roads in front of both tunnel entrances and a rescue tunnel are also planned. In the coming years, many other modifications will follow in addition to the road construction, including for groundwater protection. The Lower Steinach and the White Main come together in this area.

The head of the local building authority assumes that construction of the tunnel will start in 2025 and be completed in 2027, and that this new bypass will reduce noise and air pollution concerns while improving the overall road network. The introduction of the Kauerndorf bypass in the Kulmbach region represents a significant step forward. Crossing under nature conservation areas will ensure comprehensive protection of Kulmbach's drinking water wells, a milestone.
