Helio Tower – Showcase for qualitative urban development

The Helio Tower is finished! After 5 years of planning and construction, the residential tower in Vienna's 3rd district was finally completed. With building physics and building services engineering (planning/ÖBA), the iC Group was instrumental in the success of the team with planners and the client BUWOG for the approximately 110-metre-high tower with over 400 flats.

The Helio Tower is finished! After 5 years of planning and construction, the residential tower in the 3rd district was finally handed over. The iC Group was instrumental in the success of the team of planners and the client BUWOG with building physics and building services engineering (planning/ÖBA).

A modern residential tower with a total of 401 flats distributed over 34 storeys rises to a height of around 110 metres, making it a showcase example of qualitative urban development and sustainability in action. The BUWOG project is part of the urban development area "The Marks" in Vienna's 3rd district. 173 of the more than 400 flats are rental flats of the Vienna Housing Initiative, which makes the living space of the Helio Tower accessible to a broad section of the population.

The residents of the Helio Tower benefit from a cross-building mobility concept with space for 2,000 bicycles, a car-sharing model with electric vehicles as well as city bikes and electric cargo bikes. The garage also offers the possibility to charge e-bikes at more than 25 stations.

"A key success factor of the Vienna housing model has always been that Vienna builds for all needs. However, there has always been and still is enough room for innovation and new projects. In this sense, I am very pleased that Vienna is experiencing a real enrichment for our city with the HELIO TOWER and that the first residents can now move in here," says municipal councillor Marcus Schober.
