Joint Young Members Austria is a multi-organisational and inter-university team of young engineers. Their aim is to promote networking between the next generation of engineers from all fields of geotechnical engineering and to facilitate the exchange of practical experience and knowledge.

While doing so, they also focus on a cross-generational dialogue, progress in digitalisation and the expansion of international cooperation. The iC BIM experts Florian Kaplan and Phillip Broidl were among the speakers at the last Joint Young Members Austria Symposium. They shared their expertise in 'Building Information Modelling' (BIM), an innovative approach to project management in the construction industry. This technology displays building data from all aspects of a project and consolidates it into an intelligent building data model. The model can then be accessed by all parties involved at any time and aids in all subsequent steps. Florian Kaplan and Phillip Broidl presented their know-how on this topic using six common use cases as well ass explained how proper use can increase efficiency and transparency while reducing errors. Such developments facilitate ongoing projects and are the first steps into the future of the construction industry.
