Hydrogeological and geological site investigation and mapping; geological and geotechnical assessment; natural hazards; on-site geological documentation and consulting during construction phase, hydrological perpetuation of evidence
PDF-DownloadThe Bergbahnen Werfenweng GmbH is construction a water reservoir near the Donneregg summit for new snow generation facilities and snow cannons at the close ski resort. This also encompasses the construction of the supply lines for water, electricity and compressed air, and a new multi-use ski-route.
As basis for the geotechnical planning of the construction project, iC was tasked with the geological and hydrological investigation and mapping of the project area, including a geological and geotechnical assessment of the underground and the morphological situation (faults, potential landslides, etc.) in the planned reservoir location and it’s accompanying structures (supply lines, pump station etc.). Following a mapping of the complete project area (reservoir location, pump station, supply lines), trial pits and drillings were used during the investigation.
The project was authorized by the authorities in July and September 2017. The authorization was tied to several geological stipulations and the construction started in spring 2018. iC was tasked with the geological and hydrological construction supervision and documentation.
Overall volume reservoir: 107.000 m³, max. dike height 29,8 m
Altitude approx. 1000-1834 m
Mapping and project area approx 9 sq.km, approx. 7 km pipeline and supply line construction
