We are in charge of overseeing the tendering process and local construction supervision for a new rest area dedicated to lorry drivers on the A21 motorway, heading towards St. Pölten near Alland. ASFINAG is utilizing a previously unused space behind a fuel station to address the pressing need for more truck parking spaces and to ensure drivers adhere to legally mandated rest periods.
This project significantly contributes to road safety by providing lorry drivers with the necessary rest and relaxation.
Scheduled to open in November, the rest area will feature:
- 42 parking spaces for heavy goods vehicles
- Modern sanitary facilities with showers and shaded outdoor seating
- Enhanced safety features including energy-efficient LED lighting, video surveillance, and an emergency call system directly connected to the ASFINAG traffic management center in Vienna
