Prime Minister Kurti visits the 9.78 km long Lumi i Madh route.

Accompanied by his Environmental, Spatial Planning, and Infrastructure counterpart, Liburn Aliu, along with Deputy Ministers Hysen Durmishi and Jeton Raka, and deputies of the Assembly of the Republic, Prime Minister Albin Kurti of Kosovo visited the construction site of the 'Extension of the M2 National Road' Project on the road between Pristina and Mitrovica.

During the inspection of the start of construction on the Lumi i Madh section, spanning 9.78 kilometers, Prime Minister Kurti expressed admiration for the significant pace of work. We are pleased to oversee operations in this segment, acting as the independent engineer overseeing the execution of the project.

Known for its heavy traffic, the expansion of this section promises enhanced efficiency for this route. Furthermore, this initiative constitutes only a part of a broader effort aimed at bolstering regional connectivity.

The construction activities encompassing the integration of corridors and highways involve the expansion of the existing roadway. It transitions from a two-lane road catering to two separate directions to a total of four lanes, each 3.75 meters wide, supplemented by auxiliary lanes spanning 2 meters. Additional infrastructure amenities will also be incorporated. This road is part of the TEN-T network, specifically Route 6A, linking Corridor VIII in North Macedonia (Skopje) via Pristina to Route 4 in the eastern sector of Montenegro.
