The use of energy from renewable sources for the replacement workplaces of the Villach Operational Management Centre in Spittal/Drau.
The feasibility study investigated a range of energy sources such as groundwater, photovoltaic and the feeding of exhaust heat into the existing district heating grid. The client opted to use groundwater for air conditioning as well as a roof-mounted photovoltaic plant in order to meet a part of the building’s energy needs. The groundwater system was then put out to tender and designed in detail. Hydrogeological investigations of ideal locations for the groundwater wells and temperature measurements were also carried out on behalf of the client.
