Project objectives

The project focuses on the installation of the Rapuni hydropower cascade comprising two small hydropower plants located at the Rapuni River in eastern Albania in the vicinity of the village of Librazhd. Both plants consist of a Tyrolean weir and a downstream desanding basin, a GRP penstock (2.9 and 3.7 km) and a power house for the turbines. The hydro-mechanical equipment was supplied by the Austrian turbine producer Kössler.

Project content

iC is in charge of complete planning and tendering of the hydropower cascade Rapuni 1 and Rapuni 2 based on a feasibility study by Posch&Partner dating from 2007. The services comprise consulting to the client in all project phases.
