The new Landgutgasse Education Campus is part of the Vienna Campus Model, which comprises multiple education campuses. Enhancing educational quality in urban areas is to be achieved by integrating all school age groups at a single location.
iC was commissioned for general planning in a consortium with schluder architektur ZT. The openBIM project focused on energy efficiency using photovoltaic panels, heat pumps, deep probes and surface heating via underfloor heating and building component activation.
The education campus accommodates approximately 1,425 children aged 0 to 16. It includes three infant and nine kindergarten groups, 29 all-day school classes (primary & secondary), four vocational preparation classes, a library, therapy rooms, special education rooms, three kitchens, two dining halls, a movement space, a music school (13 classrooms), a band rehearsal room, two standard sports halls, a gymnastics hall, three gardens with play areas, and an event hall for 180 people. The total net usable area is approximately 17,000 m².
