Project objectives

The pumped storage plant Kühtai is an extension of the existing power station group Sellrain-Silz by adding a second upper stage. Thus both utilisation efficiency and total performance coefficient of the power station group will be increased.

Project description

For the environmental impact statement, a specialist report on vibrations and structure borne noise was prepared, outlining the project’s effects during the operational and construction phases. The project, located in the alps, posed special requirements on monitoring equipment.

Project data

• Total output of two turbines: 130 MW
